I have always dreamed of creating my own perfume packaging, but I have no idea how to start?

From time to time, our clients have questions about the design development process or the specifics of perfume and cosmetic packaging production. Perhaps below you will find answers to your questions too.

Do you work with startups starting their own perfume brand?

Our studio is delighted to collaborate with perfume startups. We specialize in creating unique and captivating packaging that reflects your brand’s essence. Whether you're launching your first fragrance or expanding your line, we’re here to help bring your vision to life with innovative and high-quality design solutions.

If upon request you indicate that you are a startup, we will take this into account when calculating the cost of work.

Let's create something beautiful together!

What are the key stages in developing perfume packaging?

Research and Analysis: We start with thorough market research and analysis to understand your target audience and current trends.

Conceptual Design: Initial sketches and moodboards are created to establish the style and direction of the packaging.

Detailed Design: We develop detailed design of selected concept, including 3D models, graphic elements, and material selection.

Prototyping: Physical or digital prototypes are made to visualize and test the packaging.

Technical Design: The final technical production drawings are usually prepared by specialists at the production factory, as they have the most knowledge of their equipment and technological processes.

What is the estimated time frame for packaging development?

Research and Analysis: 1week

Conceptual Design: 2 weeks

Detailed Design: 2 weeks

Prototyping: 1-3 weeks

* These development times are approximate and may vary depending on the volume of work and complexity of tasks.

How and why to fill out a brief for packaging development?

A creative brief is a wonderful tool that allows the client to structure his thoughts, desires and goals when filling it out. For a studio, the brief provides a clear picture of its goals and ensures that all key factors are taken into account during the development process. The references in the brief are indispensable for choosing and searching for stylistic directions when developing a design.

Is the studio responsible for production and delivery of products?

The studio does not handle the production and delivery of packaging. Our primary task is the design development. However, upon the client's request, we can provide design supervision during production, coordinate working drawings and materials, and promptly respond to any design changes that occur during the manufacturing process.

Is it expensive to make your own custom perfume packaging?

Producing your own customized packaging will be more expensive than ordering a batch of ready-made stock packaging. However, having your own packaging instantly elevates the perception of your brand, increases its value in the eyes of your customers, and reduces marketing and promotion costs.

Here are the key points to help reduce production costs:

  • Minimalist Design: A simple and elegant design without unnecessary details and complex elements.
  • Simplified Shapes: Avoiding complex shapes and constructions that can increase production costs.
  • Mass Production: The larger the batch, the lower the unit cost of production.
  • Local Production: Manufacturing packaging in countries with lower production costs.
  • Competitive Bidding: Obtaining quotes from multiple manufacturers to choose the most cost-effective option.
  • Economical Finishing Options: Choosing less expensive finishing options, such as foil stamping instead of hot stamping.
  • Limiting Special Effects: Minimizing the use of expensive decorative elements and special effects.
