HAPS BUGS pliers packaging design.
"HAPS" is a hardware store. Under the marketing plan, several ideas have been proposed to the clients to increase buyer loyalty, for example, a kit of pliers. Pliers are tools needed in any household, but any gift from the company should be a memorable advertising experience. Therefore, we have offered to create an unusual package for the pliers to make the buyers smile and be surprised.

‘Bug and pliers are similar because both of them have jaws.’
Solutions
It is not difficult to simply paint the package in the brand colours, however we wanted to make the pliers disappear into the packaging, making the buyer not even notice that the gift was a set of pliers in the first place. Thus, it would be interesting for the buyer to inspect the gift packaging. With all this in mind, we have decided to turn the pliers into different variations of bugs.
The handles became the bug's main body whilst the pliers' jaws turned into the bugs' jaws. The various sizes and types of bugs in nature allow us to make multiple body configurations to demonstrate the variety of pliers. The similar colours of the shell (yellow and black) combine all the bugs into an entire brand set.

‘HAPS BUGS fix any bugs.’
Naming
The name "HAPS HANDY BUGS" refers to the image of a "HANDYMAN" – a fixer, craftsman, and person capable of fixing everything. The word-play in the slogan "These BUGS fix any bugs" refers to the packaging and what the pliers are intended to fix - bugs. The term "bug" (defect) is derived from programmer slang and is commonly used to describe anything that works improperly.
